New Jersey, better known as the "Garden State", has plenty to offer, especially if you are a tourist. This state is home to the cities of Cherry Hill and Trenton, smaller size metropolises that are rich in culture and history. New Jersey has a population of over eight million people and is still growing. The unique history of this state lays its roots back to the Revolutionary War period. Over 100 battles were fought on New Jersey's soil, including the cities of Cherry Hill and Trenton, as Americans struggled to gain their independence from the British. It is one of the original 13 states in the newly formed United States and the 3^rd state to ratify our country’s constitution. Thomas Edison invented the phonograph here, and the first boardwalk was built in Atlantic City back in 1870. New Jersey is also the place, where the first copper mine was opened. Other historical landmarks include the site, where Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton had their famous gun duel back in 1804. New Jersey also has multitude of fine restaurants, entertainment, and furniture stores. The "Keystone State" of Pennsylvania borders this state to the west, and the scenic charm of Maryland and Delaware to the south.  Delaware has several unique cities, such as Newark, Dover, and Wilmington, which we will be talking about later in this article.

The economy of New Jersey is dependent upon the tourism industry that flock to the region to check out the casinos, which dot the area. This state offers visitors fun attractions such as Gillian's Hurricane Harbor and the Fantasy Island Amusement Park. It is also rich in cultural art activities. The African Art Museum and Ellis Island Museum are just a couple of cool places to visit, when you arrive in New Jersey.

New Jersey also has a booming retail industry, especially in furniture. Many furniture stores offer a unique variety of contemporary pieces, if you are in the mood to redecorate your home. Cherry Hill is another wonderful spot to check out during your tour of New Jersey. Home to the Barclay Farmstead built in 1816 by Quaker farmer Joseph Thorn, Cherry Hill is known for its rich tradition and excellent fashion appeal. The Cherry Hill Mall has 165 moderate to upscale shops to browse in and plenty of wonderful furniture outlets, as well. The Cherry Hill Mall is also a great place to take a stroll and view New Jersey's finest furniture products at the most reasonable prices. Many Cherry Hill residents are proud of their former agrarian lifestyle, which used to dominate the region in years past. Most current day Cherry Hill residents are undergoing a change not only in how they cultivate the land, but also how the influx of tourists plays a role in this New Jersey city's economy. Since shopping is a big hit in Cherry Hill, many retailers, such as furniture outlets, do pretty well in this region. There is no shortage of tourist money, when it comes to spending in this small New Jersey city, but you may find a shortage of furniture pieces if you don’t act fast!

New Jersey is not the only place in the Northeast, which offers great entertainment and high-class furniture products. Cross the state line to the west and enter Pennsylvania, home to the vibrant city of Philadelphia. Pennsylvania is rich in cultural landmarks, many of these, which are located in Philadelphia. These Philadelphia landmarks are usually within walking distance of most local hotels, so you can stop in and check out some beautiful colonial furniture along the way. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is home to the famous Philadelphia cheese steak. When checking out unique furniture products from Ashley, Coaster, and Homelegance, be sure to stop in at one of the local delis and indulge your senses in this delicious treat. If you like chocolate then go a little further to the west from Philadelphia to Hershey, Pennsylvania. This Pennsylvania theme park is home to the king of chocolates and good treats! The kids will thank you after this excursion.

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania has a very rich history as well. The Declaration (Graff) House is located here. This is the place where Thomas Jefferson signed the Declaration of Independence. You can also view the Liberty Bell as you stroll past Philadelphia's traditional furniture stores. Philadelphia, like Trenton and Cherry Hill has plenty of gorgeous furniture items to choose from. Tourists love to spend in Pennsylvania's city of Brotherly Love, and there is plenty to love about Philadelphia.

Maryland and Delaware are two other beautiful states to drop in while you are touring the New Jersey region. Delaware is home to the John Dickinson Plantation and the New Castle Court House Museum. This thriving state has several unique cities such as Newark, Dover, and Wilmington. Delaware has four distinct seasons and is a great place to engage in outdoor activities, such as hunting and fishing. For sport lovers go check out the Delaware Motorsports Complex, where racing cars rev their engines and blaze around the track. Your outdoor adventure should also include stops to Newark, Dover, and Wilmington. Newark has fun events, such as the downtown food and brew fest, along with luscious foods you can indulge in at the Taste of Newark. Dover is located in central Delaware and was founded in 1683 by William Penn. It has a population of 34,120 and 26,000 acres of land for fine dining, furniture shopping, and nightly entertainment. Dover, Delaware covers a larger area than any other city located on the Delmarva, Peninsula. After you stop by Dover, go check out Wilmington. The Wilmington Riverfront has everything an avid shopper desires from furniture outlet shops to contemporary art. Wilmington is home to the Grand Opera House and the famous Market Street Mall This Wilmington mall will add to your shopping adventure in Wilmington, along with all the other fantastic sights and sounds of this Delaware city. Wilmington is also home to the Delaware Theatre Company, which offers a wide range of classical and modern shows. Stop in and check out the Delaware Art Museum, as well. The Brandywine Zoo is also located in Wilmington, so the kids can go home and tell their friends about all the exotic animals they saw. You will probably also want to check out Wilmington square which features six 18^th century houses, which have been restored back to their original form.

Before leaving this region be sure to cross over into Maryland. Maryland is so beautiful, dotted with rolling hillsides and treetops. This state is home to the Allegany Mountains and numerous Civil War Trails. Maryland has four distinct seasons, and is a great place for seasonal sports such as sailing, biking, and skiing. You will also find some of the best seafood known to your ravenous taste buds in Maryland. There is no shortage of shopping outlets either. Maryland's scenic landscape draws plenty of tourists to the region that love to wine, dine, and browse. Maryland furniture store products fill many of the colonial style houses in this region, accenting each abode in their own beautiful way.

New Jersey has a lot to offer to its visitors, but so do other places such as Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland, which are located in the same region. Unique cities such as Cherry Hill and Trenton are frequently visited by out of state tourists traveling to New Jersey. However, Pennsylvania is home to the city of Philadelphia, and its exquisite history. Delaware houses Wilmington, Newark, and Dover, all of which offer the tourist excellent dining and furniture shopping. Don't forget Maryland either. Maryland's beautiful scenery and lush mountain backdrop will take your breathe to new heights.
