The late and great blues artist Stevie Ray Vaughan was a long time resident and is immortalized in a prime location close to Town Lake. Due to the new insurgence of celebrities, such as Matthew McConaughey and Sandra Bullock, it is fast becoming a Filmmakers dream. Austin’s wealth of educated population coupled with its open mind mentality presents filmmakers as well as large organizations with a perfect place to base their corporations. Dell Computers and IBM are just two examples of the many technology corporations that call Austin home. This Texas Hill Country city has that down home touch with the amenities of a large metropolis that makes it perfect for not only individuals to make it their home but also for the entertainment industry and large corporations, alike.
